PlayStation Network Is Back Online, And Today’s Maintenance Has Been Postponed

In light of the recent attacks on the PlayStation Network, Sony have announced that they will be postponing the regularly scheduled maintenance that was supposed to take place today. They also announced that all PSN services are back online and good to go. Here’s the word from their post on the official blog:

The PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network are back online and people can now enjoy the services on their PlayStation devices. The networks were taken offline due to a distributed denial of service attack. We have seen no evidence of any intrusion to the network and no evidence of any unauthorized access to users’ personal information.

In light of today’s issue, the networks will not undergo the regularly scheduled maintenance, which was planned for Monday, August 25. We will provide an update shortly for when the maintenance will be rescheduled.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue. Thanks for your patience and support.

Great news for anyone who was planning on taking advantage of the bank holiday in the UK to play some games, and it was nice that they reiterated that no one’s information was compromised during the attack. Head to the comments and let us know what you’ll be playing today.

  1. Butthurt American xbox one fanboys in DDOS attack.

  2. Yay! At least Sony have shown some common sense by postponing the maintenance as two days down would just make them look bad.

Probably going to have another go at TLoU MP later on to celebrate the lack of maintenance taking place.

    • Have fun with TLoU matey! Wont be around this time as i’m out of the country till next month

      • I’ll just find someone else then you lucky sod ;)

  3. I’ll be playing work.

  4. Killzone, obvs

  5. Well, assuming it was gonna be a sleepy Sunday I stopped checking TSA after the Community Chronicle and I missed all the madness! Good work with the Sunday evening dedication TSA. So the hacking is pretty annoying but the bomb threat is on another level, for some I bet that was truly terrifying, I can hardly believe that happened and I hope they catch these twats. Anyway, in celebration of big bad corporate Sony not being permanently broken by the twats with fast fingers I’ll probably use the PSN to update Gravity Rush when I gleefully start playing after work tonight :)

  6. The bomb threat was incredibly stupid, now they have the FBI on their tails – but it turns out that the person who was actually responsible for the DDOS attack is annoyed that LizardSquits took credit for his work so he exposed their details to the authorities! lol

  7. Diablo and FF14 later. Actual real life games first. Take the kids to the park.
On a side note, the Z in apologise really irritates me. Bloody Americanisms.

    • I won’t apologize for American exceptionalism. The Z should not be capitalized.

  8. I’ll be playing the”Ice Bucket Challenge” and then some GTA V Online.
