We thought it might be coming today, after reports this morning indicated that Minecraft PS4 edition would be bundled in as a semi-surprise in today’s PSN Store Update. But then that update came, and Minecraft was nowhere to be seen.
Well, better late than never, and the game has finally arrived for PS4. You’re able to head over to the web store to purchase it and start downloading, or a search on the PS4 store should also do the trick. If not, try to go to all games and then sort by newest first, skipping past the pre-orders to find it.
The title costs £12.99 to buy, though if you own the PS3 version it should be £3.69. The game will release on Xbox One this Friday with a similar discount for owners of the Xbox 360 version, and will be coming to PS Vita at some point in the future.
Thanks, Michael

You’re welcome. :)

Broken Link…. Doesn’t work…. Says “Page Not Found”…
Bodachi
I own PS3 Minecraft and somehow got PS4 Minecraft for free.
DividSmythe
That’s the demo version I got tricked into it earlier too.
Bodachi
Seems odd that the demo is called a game unlock.
hazelam
sweet, nice surprise.
and i just had a thought, remote play.
yep, says remote play is supported.
so i can play it on my vita. ^_^
weird thing though, it’s showing up as free for me.
though i’ve just tried it, and it seems to be stuck as a demo.
when i play it just create the turorial map, and when i quit the map, it ask if i want to unlock, and it brings up the page with the game unlock, and it says it’s already installed.
ok quick look on the blog.
seem like the “game unlock” is just the demo, which explains why it’s free.
to unlock you need to download the one say just says Minecraft PS4 edition, game.
wow, only just 7am, and i’ve already discovered Minecraft on PS4 got a surprise release, thought i was getting it free, then thought it was broken, then discovered it was just mislabelled.
now i’ve paid what i expected to pay, though the thought of getting it free was nice for a while. ^_^
and now i have the full version. the full version.
have to try the remote play later.
doesn’t seem to be a manual save option though.
you can disable autosaves, but i don’t know why that would preclude manual saving on PS4.
still, finally got Minecraft on PS4, bigger worlds here i come.
Carrot381
So correct me if i’m wrong but with the ps3 and vita versions being cross buy i can own all 3 versions for £16.68 and have remote play too?
Klart
You’re right.
Carrot381
Will this work if i own the physical vita version?
Don’t want to buy it if it works out cheaper to get digital versions for all 3.
psychobudgie
As others stated, can only locate the demo version for the PS4, full version seems to be absent from the store at the moment.
psychobudgie
and just as I hit submit it appeared, as if by magic, but only after I’d downloaded the demo first. Perhaps it’s a coincidence or it actually requires you to download the demo first?

Hello Minecraft, So long free time.
94jdh
If you have the PS3 version the upgrade to PS4 is free for some reason. Get it while you can. If you dont have it, buy the PS3 version (this gives you the vita version free as well, then go and get the PS4 version upgrade for free!!
Be quick it wont last long!
94jdh
See post further up, look likes a mislabelling – damn!
DividSmythe
As above it’s the demo version. It’s just oddly named. Stupid I know.
wattsjonc
any advise on how to get ps3 worlds onto ps4?
DividSmythe
This is the thing that’s confused me. Maybe needs a patch? Anybody got any clue?
94jdh
Eu blog states it requires an update that will be due in days not weeks
DividSmythe
