Next week’s UK chart leader is pretty obvious, but this week sprang a nice little surprise, with The Sims 4 heading to the top of the charts. Considering how digital distribution tends to dominate the PC market these days, a lot of PC sales go unaccounted for in the weekly charts, so for The Sims 4 to be top dog on retail performance alone is quite impressive. That or it’s a sign of just how much people dislike/don’t know about Origin.
Behind it, Watch Dogs leaps up from 9th to 2nd, as last week’s leader, Metro Redux, drops to 3rd. Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition also drops down, now in 5th behind The Last of Us: Remastered, with the rest of the top 20 featuring many of the usual suspects.

Surprised to see Sims at the top, just goes to show not everyone is into digital distribution.

A few friends have been spanking the arse off of The Sims 4. Not for me but it’s sounding like a decent move on from the previous version. I’ve been enjoying Dead Rising 3 (co-op) on the PC. The game smacks of “oh, it’s come over from a console version” but nothing that breaks the enjoyment. Weirdly, it crashes, without fail, every time I try to quit the game.
God bless the vehicular mods.
Also of note, some of you might remember the CDKeys debacle with Sniper Elite 3 codes being from an illegitimate source (on Steam). Thankfully, Dead Rising 3 has been fine and the ‘£5 Off Voucher’ meant that Dead Rising 3 was a beautifully lean £14.99 at checkout. Stunning value for money.

That is a bargain. One of the best zombie games I’ve played. The vehicles especially made it enjoyable for me, particularly the rollerhog!

You can see where they’ve refined the absolutely life out of the mechanics of the second title and that is admirable in itself. What’s nice is how the new vehicles work and the hilarious number of zombies look when you’re smashing into them with a steamroller, etc. :-)
Don’t think we’ve died once in the game but the feeling of “oh, shit” is rarely far away. Good balancing.

wont be there for long what with the immanent release of Destiny
