Quite a few years ago there was some leaks from Blizzard that confirmed the existence of a brand new MMO, codenamed Titan, for the new gen. However though it was known to exist Blizzard never technically announced the game, but the studio has now announced that the project has been cancelled after seven years in development. Last year the company took the game back to the drawing board but whatever they were trying to create clearly wasn’t progressing the way Blizzard intended it to.
In an interview with Polygon Blizzard’s CEO Mike Morhaime had the following to say.
“We had created World of Warcraft, and we felt really confident that we knew how to make MMOs, So we set out to make the most ambitious thing that you could possibly imagine. And it didn’t come together. We didn’t find the fun. We didn’t find the passion. We talked about how we put it through a reevaluation period, and actually, what we reevaluated is whether that’s the game we really wanted to be making. The answer is no.”
While Blizzard will continue to support World Of Warcraft and Starcraft 2 as well as smaller titles like Hearthstone, what new projects the company have in store remains unknown.

Wow i can only imagine the amount of money that was put in after 7 years plus it would’ve been their “most ambitious” game to date,i’m curious as to what is was like.

A lot of people won’t like me for saying this but: gooooooood (with evil Sith lord voice). Now they can focus on Warcraft 4 the RTS game.

I do have an issue with Blizzard, in particular their Diablo 3 title. I am now at the point where I’m getting visions of orange Legendary drop light streaks through my working day. My little bursts of excitement when I see them in game is starting to transfer to my visions as well. I think I might be developing a problemmm. You know when your team scores a goal? That’s how I feel about a Legendary drop. I’ cannn just how drop contr ol orange light again agggh
