Tales From The Borderlands Gets A Premiere Trailer

It’s time to head back to Pandora, folks. This time we’re going in Telltale style with an episodic series that sees players again traverse the sandy wasteland, but this time with a little more narrative and few gazillion guns fewer than previous attempts. Or so we assume.

We’ve known this project was in the works for awhile now but today is the first time we finally get to see it in action. The trailer shows us our two protagonists, Rhys, a low-level company man for Hyperion, and Fiona, a con-artist. Both characters seem to be teaming up to steal a vault key, money, or both from the Hyperion corporation. A few characters you know will be returning, such as Handsome Jack and Zer0, and the voice acting cast seems to be solid with Nolan North (Uncharted series) and Patrick Warburton (Joe from Family Guy) onboard.

It’s difficult to know right now just exactly what the game will be like but if the trailer is any indication, the wit from previous Borderlands games seems intact, which definitely adds to the appeal. We don’t have a release date for the first episode just yet but we do know that it’s coming to several platforms at some point or another: both Xbox consoles, both PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and others they’ve yet to announce.

Have a look at the trailer and let us know in the comments if you’re thinking of taking another tour of Pandora from a slightly different angle this time.

  1. Yup, I’m sold. The whole timeline thing at the start was stupid, but the trailer itself seems solid. Best of both worlds…. Except the guns and loot and co-op and open(-ish) world.

    • Might have been a cheap way to plug The Pre-Sequel game!

Looks good and I’ll get it, but no way I’ll be buying this on release, I’ll wait for the inevitable disc release seeing as every one of their games has had a physical release now.

      • Yeah, I’ll probably wait for a sale or until all episodes are out.
