Yakuza 5 Finally Coming To Europe & North America In 2015

4 & Dead Souls get digital releases.

SEGA has finally confirmed what Yakuza fans have been waiting for, and that is Yakuza 5 will finally be available in North America and Europe in 2015. Meanwhile, Yakuza 4 and Yakuza: Dead Souls will be getting digital releases this week on the PlayStation store for PS3. This news is a far cry from what was said a year ago, when it seemed like that localisation for Yakuza 5 was not part of SEGA’s plans.

Yakuza 5 has five protagonists for players to control as well as being set across five Japanese cities. The graphics engine was overhauled for Yakuza 5, giving it a bit of a different look to the likes of Yakuza 4 and Dead Souls. Now all we need is for SEGA to announce Yakuza Ishin is coming to Europe and North America on PS4, and all will be good, I can see it happening eventually. Maybe next year or 2016.

  1. Nice

    • Premature posting:
I’ve seen a lot of people ask for localisations for this series online, so it’s nice to see Sega finally delivering.

Personally, I don’t know much of it, but I’m now interested in giving the games a go. Knowing that there’s some support for it now in the west.

  2. Good news. Then yes, we need Ishin as well (which will presumably get a different name here?).

And then Yakuza 0 too? Actually, 0 seems more likely to get a release here than Ishin, doesn’t it?

    • I demand Ishin be released. DEMAND I say! Don’t test me Sony, just… Don’t.

    • Well, I caught this intriguing looking picture in the main Yakuza 5 localization on Neogaf- http://i.imgur.com/1HBclmg.jpg

So it could happen. I know it’ll be my most requested game if Sony does another #buildingthelist this year.

  3. So glad this is finally happening. Far overdue. I loved the first but I lost interest after the enormous amount of time it took to bring the second game to the west, I’m pretty sure the third was here before it, and then just never bothered to pick it up due to price or the fact that, by the time I’d had the time to play games seriously again, I learned they weren’t bringing yet another one over here. I still have my original PS2 copy of Yakuza so now I know I can play the entire saga before what is considered to be a reboot I’ll crack it out and play it again over Xmas I think.

Really hope we get the spin off, Ishin, as the time period it’s set in looks amazing. Even if they ‘re download only.
