News Snatch: The Order: 1886, Destiny And Dying Light

Well hello there, long time no see. Welcome to the first news round up of the year featuring all the bobbins that never made it into a full post, lovingly wrapped up in the warming embrace of what we call News Snatch. I will admit it’s rather slim pickings this week, the industry is still emerging from the haze of Christmas and getting back into full swing but we have a couple of interesting items starting with the developers of Dying Light having a stab at co-op mode.

The director of Tekken kept his job a secret from his family for over five years as he feared hey would react badly to his chosen profession.

“Tekken was so violent,” explained Katsuhiro Harada. “I was raised in a strict family. I studied a lot, took sport seriously, didn’t get into fights… So I told them I was working on something else. First I told them I was making Prop Cycle. Later it was Taiko No Tatsujin. I think it came out four or five years after I joined Namco. My junior staff made that game!”

What is Xbox community manager Raj Patel teasing? Well, the morse code in the background translates as “Presented by Xbox, 10am PDT, 1pm EST, May 4th 2015″ so we have a good while to wait. Some have suggested it might be Call of Duty related but that date also makes it ideal for some kind of Star Wars announcement.

Ladies and gentlemen (and Bunimomike), may I direct your attention to a News Snatch from eleven months ago where I posted the following.

Kurt Sutter, writer of the Sons Of Anarchy TV show has said much touted but so far unseen game is absolutely happening (no it isn’t).

“I cannot give you any more details, but I will tell you that there will definitely be an SOA game, and it’s pretty fucking awesome,” he tweeted (no it wont be).

“No, it’s not a board game,” he continued, “First person, action adventure. HD graphics. It represents the evolution of gaming” he added (no it will not).

“I’m hard just typing this,” he concluded (oh dear lord you probably were).

Well cut my legs off and call me Beryl, the Sons of Anarchy game has arrived so I have been proven wrong, my apologies Kurt. As for your other claims that the title “represents the evolution of gaming”, well why not watch the trailer and make your own opinion.
A helpful instructional video explaining the controls of The Order: 1886 which you can view and then completely forget because the game isn’t out for another month.

The final Resident Evil film to star Mila Jovovich will begin filming this August, shortly after the star has given birth.

“I have to be ready to start filming ‘Resident Evil- The Final Chapter’ in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously (get ready wardrobe department for Alice’s new “easy mama access” costume;))” explained the star.

Whilst the films have long since departed from the plot of the games they have, unlike many other series, continued to make greater amounts of money with every release. The last film rather cleverly brought back the cast of the previous four films as clones, so heavens knows what will happen in part six.

Part One of our completely irregular feature, Celebrities Who Game (But You Didn’t Think They Would)

Blair was almost delirious at the thought of Mario becoming self aware, as shown in this video which imbues the plumber with adaptive AI.

Destiny is to get a new PvP mode which pitches two teams of two against each other.

Supers will charge very slowly, there will be just one heavy ammo drop per game and you will be able to revive your team mates. Design Lead Lars Bakken describes this engagement as “a slower burn with more explosive pockets.”

“The goal here was about taking the rules we already have and mixing them up to create a fresh experience,” Lars said. “Each player has the full weight of winning or losing placed squarely on their shoulders and nobody to blame but themselves… or their teammate. No pressure.”

Konami’s Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has been modded on PC and now has a first person mode.

And Finally, the Game of Thrones title sequence remade in Little Big Planet 3
