Ronin Swings And Slices On To Steam In 2015 Thanks To Devolver

Devolver Digital put out a trailer today for the newest game on their publishing slate, Ronin. It was initially revealed last year when the developer, Tomasz Waclawek, posted on Reddit about his game, describing it himself as a “Gunpoint ripoff”. Indeed, the game has a number of similarities to the story-driven puzzle platformer, from the building layout to the wall-climbing and window-smashing, and even the art style. Even so, Ronin manages to craft a unique core with interesting systems like turn-based combat and unique ninja tactics.

Gunpoint creator Tom Francis saw these qualities in the game, giving his full support to the developer in a post on his blog. Francis was delighted that someone would take the gameplay ideas present in his game and apply them somewhere else.

Ronin is coming to Steam sometime in 2015, and as a huge fan of Gunpoint, I couldn’t be more excited.
