343 Industries recently surprised everyone by announcing a beta for a game that had been out for two months. The idea was to beta test an upcoming matchmaking patch for Halo: The Master Chief Collection before release, a good idea if rather too late.
However, due to complexity of the issue the team are now re-evaluating their plans and the beta may never happen.
“As this update contains the biggest changes to the Matchmaking system yet, we’ve identified that additional time and testing is required, and we are currently evaluating both timing and need for a CU beta with the Xbox One Preview program, as well as the final public release date in February,” reads a post on Halo Waypoint.
It appears a fix for the matchmaking problems is still weeks away.
