Netflix Are Reportedly Developing A Live Action The Legend Of Zelda Series

The Wall Street Journal reports that Netflix are in the early stages of developing a live action series based on Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda games.

The broadcasting is currently searching for writers to turn Link and chums in to what a a person familiar with the matter describes as “a family friendly version of Game of Thrones”. Nintendo is said to be working closely with Netflix which is a good sign but there is every chance the project may never get off the ground or be cancelled.

Link and the Princess have only been seen on television once before when thirteen episodes of an animated series was broadcast in North America in 1989.

With seventeen official games and a number of spin-offs there is plenty of material to adapt and with Nintendo on board the series would not deviate too far from the lore. However, Link has always been portrayed in a cartoonish style, who knows what “Game of Thrones” Link would look like, and which actor could play him?

Channing Tatum looks quite good with pixie ears, he gets my vote.
