TSA Challenge: OlliOlli 2 High Score Contest

Today marks the start of a new semi-regular competition for TSA which we’ve cleverly called TSA Challenge (genius, huh)? Every now and then – mainly when a game comes along that fits – we will have competitions and challenges for you to take part in. These games may sometimes be the latest PS+ offerings or just some other recent release but either way the challenges will be for games where competition comes naturally, so expect high scores and fast times.

We will also try our best to offer prizes for each of the competitions, so there should be more than just bragging rights up for grabs. The prizes we’ve got for this round are pretty cool too, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves there…

This month’s challenge

We are kick starting these competitions with OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood which released on PS+ last week. The challenge will be for the highest score achieved on the Career – Amateur 3 stage. Also known as the third Olliwood level, or the third level in the game.

How to enter

To enter this challenge you can play OlliOlli 2 on either PS4 or PS Vita.

1) Complete the level Career – Amateur 3 as many times as you like until you’re happy that the score you have achieved is the one you want to post.

2) Go to the leaderboard for that level (so we can see it’s you!) and take a screenshot using the PS4 or Vita screenshot functionality, or just take a picture of your screen if you’d prefer. Your entry should look a little like this:

3) Sign in to Twitter and tweet your screenshot, along with your TSA username to @thesixthaxis, or upload it to an image service such as Imgur and post in the comments of this post. Alternatively, send your TSA username and the image to [email protected].

4) You can enter as many times as you like but please don’t spam us with loads of entries! Try and wait until you’re confident you won’t beat the score you’ve got.

5) Closing date for entries will be Friday 20th March at 6pm GMT, giving you one week to enter. Any entries received after the deadline will not be counted.

6) Prizes will only be sent out to UK addresses due to the cost of postage, but you can try anyway for bragging rights!

Prizes

Thanks to the wonderful guys at Roll7 we have some cool prizes up for grabs including OlliOlli themed finger boards, t-shirts, and we’ve even got some PSN credit up for grabs. Here’s how you can win each of those:

  • Players who finish in the top 10 will win an OlliOlli finger board.
  • Players who finish in the top 3 will also win an OlliOlli t-shirt in addition to the finger board.
  • The first place entry will also win £10 PSN credit in addition to the previous prizes.

If you’re wondering what the fingerboard is all about, here’s our model, Kris, with one to show you:

Yes, it’s a tiny skateboard. Yes, you want one. All that remains is to wish you luck, go get your grind on and set those high scores!

  1. so, new guy here(just made an account); I’m 18 years old and just saw this competition online after playing the game like crazy(almost have the platinum just need to finish 19 more levels in rad mode). I still need to create a twitter account though, since I don’t use social media all too much. but I have a few statements. #1 I’m pretty confident that I can place in this competition, if not, win it(not trying too be cocky, just speculation). #2 my concern though is that i’m an american who lives in lawrenceville,Georgia and according to rule no.6 I would have to live in the UK to receive any prizes(due to the cost of postage). #3 but if I worked hard enough in the competition to place, then I would LOVE(like absolutely love) to receive a a fingerboard and/or t-shirt. #4 so if postage doesn’t cost too much I actually wouldn’t mind paying for it myself. any way that could be worked out?

    • welcome to TSA buddy!

      • thanks
also, an update: apparently i’m #1 on the leaderboards for amateur 3

    • Hello and welcome!

I’ll be sure to find out if that would be possible. We generally stick to UK only competitions, because it’s easier in general, but could make an exception.

Also, your score is ridiculous. You are ridiculous. I dislike how good you are…

      • thanks Stefan, an I think you would be happy to know that not even two minutes ago did i earn the platinum trophy.

  2. my finger board is in for repair..needs new bearings and trucks..lol
i’m, to be blunt Shit!, at olli olli. don’t think the controls are borked but just a tad wrong.x to land, stick to trick is all a bit too skate and not hawks enough for me..will give the compo a shot but not holding out much hope

    • I agree with you about the controls. I’ve just spent my first hour in the game desperately trying to stop pressing x to jump.
Despite this clear handicap I find that I’m actually quite crap at this game too.

  3. Guess I’ll be playing this for the next week or so.

Played it the first time an hour ago and I’m at 795,041 so I’m sure I can improve somewhat in the next week.

  4. I love the game but I’m rubbish at it- just passed 80,000 – the requirement to get a star!! A Ryman league player compared to some of these Premier league dudes but hey I’ll see if I can improve it! (is there a wooden spoon prize ? ;) )

  5. Fun little game, getting the timing right consistently for some of the more advanced manoeuvres is quite challenging. I doubt I’ll be able to master it but it’s been enjoyable trying.

That’s the best I’m gonna do after only a week of playing. Hopefully it’s enough for top ten but I’m not so sure.

  7. I uploaded a new high score entry last night @HolyStryfe. 1.3 mill(better than first upload, and this will be my last entry as I don’t finish work till 5, won’t get home in time for a last ditch attempt)

  8. I emailed my entry to Blair last night. I was gonna do it via twitter but I as I’ve never used it before I didn’t have a clue how … lol.
