  1. All very nice I’m sure but how about announcing a release date AND sticking to it?!

    • Not long to go now…….we hope!

      • Hope so. These past few delays have felt more like avoiding release around the same time as another big title (Battlefield Hardline being the one in March iirc).

  2. Heh, 12k. Took me some thinking to figure out… 3 * 4K screens, was thinking 4… silly me.

    • Or a single 12k one, the one shown at CES was 70 or 80 inches and only around £50,000.

      • If you’ve got the cash to buy a computer capable enough, that probably sounds like a reasonable price.

  3. Yay, more fuel for the fanboy fire, as if there was any chance of it dying down!

I am very tempted to go for the PC version, even though I only have a 2k screen.

    • maybe not be such an idiot by starting these fanboy wars. there was no fanboy comment until you commented. people like you are as bad as the fanboys themselves.

      • Observing something doesn’t actually make you one. :-\

The sad bit is that 3shirts is right. Just go over to the PC comments section on IGN where they’ll be arguing about hardware then making sure to get a few digs in on the console crowd. Also, 3shirts knows that the TSA crowd is mature enough to actually handle comments like this.

      • As bunimomike (correctly) points out, I was simply making an observation that these are the things console fanboys argue over.

Please try to be a little more respectful, no need to throw insults around.

    • Too true. Looks like a few people on this thread have lost there sense of humour today

    • How is it fueling flames, kid? So they can’t report facts because overly sensitive fanboys might get upset?

This is useful information to people like me, I have both consoles and I’ll always choose the console version that’s the best.

      • I wasn’t accusing TSA of baiting the fanboys, I just meant that this is the kind of thing they tend to argue about.
        It was a simple observation

  4. This was to be expected. Love my Xbox but it has become an exclusives only device, complete flip from last gen

  5. Gone gold as well so should be no more delays.

  6. The 60fps is a nice touch but I’ll stick with DriveClub. I get bored just racing on racetracks as opposed to roads with different scenery etc.

    • Exactly the reason why petrol heads like me can’t be bothered with Driveclub and would rather play Project cars. So many people seem to compare the 2 games, yet they’re both wildly different.

      • So what you’re saying is the two games are wildly different compared to each other. ;)

      • Erm, no. Read the comment again perhaps?

    • Yeah, that type of circuit has always left me a bit cold too, reminds me too much of Gran Turismo. I do hope the driving isn’t as punishing as GT. Having said that there’s certainly a lot on offer in this game so i might pick it up at some point.
43 cars on track at once sounds pretty impressive too – that should surely lead to some carnage opportunities! :)

      • *45 cars, even.
I’m assuming the picture-in-picture video is a feature of the replay mode? That’s pretty neat too.

      • I don’t think it is a replay feature. The YouTuber mentioned that only one of viewpoints was the replay camera. Also the game’s front cover was shown, so I’m guessing all that editing trickery is the YouTuber not the game.

It’s a nice idea though. Perhaps in the next generation when there’s even more power, a racer could be made that has multiple viewpoints simultaneously in replay mode. After all, if future racers feature more and more cars on the order of 45, then there’s a lot more action to cover across the circuit.

      • Ah right, i missed the bit in the video where he said that only one view was the replay.

    • I don’t get this type of comment. The tracks in driveclub are exactly that. Yes they may give the appearance of a public road but they’re still tracks and you still pass the same bit of scenery every each and every lap.

They’re both racers just different styles, one swings more towards arcade while the other sim. Personally I can’t wait for project cars, more control on set up and being able to take liberties with corners without imaginary barriers getting in the way.

New F1 soon too. Driveclub has been good to keep an eye in but finally some serious racers are due. If you can look past the type face the tracks are written in you’ll no doubt enjoy yourself ;)

      • Part of the reason that type of track leaves me cold is because many of those tracks will have already featured in some way in every Formula 1 or sim racing game that has ever been. And there’s a slightly clinical/rigid feeling i get from Pro circuits vs the feeling i get shooting along a regular road at a speed i really shouldn’t be doing.

And i’m just no good at sim racing games , but that hasn’t stopped me from trying most of them anyway, so i will probably pick Project Cars up eventually too. ;)

      • “I don’t get this type of comment. The tracks in driveclub are exactly that. Yes they may give the appearance of a public road but they’re still tracks and you still pass the same bit of scenery every each and every lap.”

I completely disagree. Firstly a lot of the races are point to point so you’re not going past the same bit of scenery every time, lap after lap.

Secondly & mainly – It’s also nice to get the atmospheric feeling of driving in different countries.
Driving in the subdued bleak surroundings of old castle ruins in the highlands of Scotland gives off a completely different vibe to driving in the hot, sticky muddy tracks in India or the huge mountain ranges in Norway.
Although you’re concentrating on the race ahead you can still get sucked into the atmosphere of your surroundings and feel tiny compared to huge cliffs and the various landscapes.

  7. Hitting a steady 60fps will be impressive, only Forza 5 has managed it so far this gen.

    • If we don’t count Nintendo, sure. Unfortunately Forza can’t pull it off in splitscreen (hoping 6 will, and give us four player splitscreen @ 30FPS… One can hope).

Speaking of splitscreen, Project CARS doesn’t have it, and that does limit my interest with Forza 6 coming later this year.

      • I don’t really consider the Wii U a current gen console. Kinda in between this and last gen.

  8. It’s worth reporting that:
PS4 has live feedback voiced by Ben Collins (race driver, ex Stig).

X1 version utilities the rumble triggers on the controller. If it’s anything like forza 5/H2 it’ll be VERY useful if you play without traction control.
