Star Wars Battlefront Won’t Have Aim-Down Sights

EA’s upcoming Star Wars Battlefront reboot won’t feature aim-down/ironsights for many of its weapons, Executive Producer Patrick Bach has confirmed. Speaking with GamesRadar he mentioned that although some guns come equipped with scopes, traditional ironsights are nowhere to be seen.

It’s an unexpected design choice, considering the overwhelming number of first person shooters that have adopted this aim-enhancing feature. That said, DICE is no doubt trying to distance Battlefront from its well-established Battlefield series, even if that means experimenting with the genre’s tried and tested blueprint.

Star Wars Battlefront is slated to launch this November on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

  1. Good call. I wish 343 would have done the same with Halo 5… *grumble, grumble*

  2. Good, no need to change it to suit the current trends for fps games.

  3. Brave move DICE. But a great one IMO. Now it might even play similarly to the old battlefronts.

  4. Was watching a video on youtube by Star Wars HQ and they were saying that the game would have the option to play either 1st or 3rd person so it’ll be interesting to see the gameplay from both perspectives. E3 no doubt for the major reveals.
