Nintendo has been embracing the mobile games route these last few months, and it’s turning out really well for them. Profits are high, and some of their recent mobile-esque games like Pokemon Rumble World and Puzzle and Dragons 3DS have been received well.
It shouldn’t be a surprise, then, that Nintendo President and CEO Iwata plans to take their mobile gaming foray very seriously.
In a Nintendo financial report last week, Iwata revealed that a producer from the Mario Kart franchise would be handling one or more of their mobile games. While he did not say which producer in particular, many speculate that it will be Hideko Konno, the producer on Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8.
With Nintendo planning to release five mobile games before March of 2017, we’ll be sure to find out more about some of those titles soon.
