Bandai Namco have announced that the commercial version of the cabinet will be available to order from June 18th. The Battle Pod, which first appeared in arcades in January 2015, will cost £24K/$35K and that doesn’t include shipping or set up fees.

If you’re feeling particularly flush, then you can get the Premium Edition Battle Pod for $100K and this version will come equipped with genuine leather seats which are synchronised to move and react to the action. The premium version comes with a choice of two cabinet designs to choose from, either the Rebel Alliance or Darth Vader. Both versions will include a specially bound owner’s manual, a plate engraved with the owner’s name and the cabinet’s serial number, and exclusive carpeting.

  1. I’ve just looked through some gameplay videos and this looks like a Star Wars skinned version of Afterburner. If I had the cash spare I certainly wouldn’t be wasting it on this.

    • Hmm yeah, it’s a lot of money for an okay update to Star Wars Arcade, which I’d gladly pay all that cash for!! I wonder if the pod has an hdmi input…

  2. I played this last week. I have to admit it really is a good game. The price is just for the insanely rich, let alone having enough room for the cabinet itself.

  3. ‘Premium Edition Battle Pod’ for me, it’s a bargain…… Not!
