UK Charts 30/05/15: The Witcher III Stays On Top, Splatoon In Second Place

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt has scored a second week at the top of charts, defending it’s position against Nintendo’s new I.P., Splatoon. The game becomes the 5th fastest selling Wii U title to date and the biggest ever launch of new IP on the Wii U.

It’s the usual suspects further down the chart, Farming Simulator 15 seems to be doing well, and a number of sales and offers have boosted the likes of Far Cry 4 and Lego Batman.

  1. “Nintendo’s first new I.P. in ages”

Wrong. Codename Steam released recently, brand new IP, Captain Toad is a new IP from an existing character, Wonderful 101 is a Nintendo exclusive, although not developed by them, it’s an exclusive New IP. Box Boy, the fantastic 3DS game is a new IP, released this year, Rusty’s real deal baseball, Tomodachi Life, then looking further back there’s Steel Diver. Affordable Space Adventures, Shovel Knight.

The “Nintendo has no new IPs” is absolutely untrue. they come out with one, everyone says it’s the newest in years, then they announce another. They might not design every single one, but they do with a fair few. Please do more thorough research.

  2. Does this make ‘Skate’ EAs 5th best selling franchise?! And that’s after giants like FIFA, Battlefield & The Sims, not to mention Skate 3 is over 5 years old. Mental. If they don’t announce Skate 4 at E3 this year, they are absolute remtards.

    • To get to #35 in the charts it needs so sell a few hundred copies at most, it’s not selling bucketloads, it’s just selling because it’s in stock and massively cheap.

      • A few hundred copies, per week, of a 5 year old game is pretty impressive though. Also, I wouldn’t say £15 is MASSIVE cheap. Can get PS4 games for less than that.
