Harvest Moon: Seeds Of Memories Coming To Wii U, PC And Mobile This Winter

Natsume have announced that the next entry in the long-running Harvest Moon series will be subtitled Seeds of Memories, it will also be the first title in the series to come to Wii U and PC, as well as being the first mainline entry to come to iOS and Android devices.

“From the farm to the town, we wanted Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories to evoke the feeling of a classic Harvest Moon game with modern twists,” explains Natsume CEO, Hiro Maekawa. “We’re also excited to finally bring the Harvest Moon series to the Nintendo Wii U, PC, and mobile platforms, where fans have definitely told us they want to see the series.”

Going back to its roots, the game is said to incorporate familiar gameplay elements that long-time fans of the series will recognise. Players will be tasked with befriending townsfolk in order to acquire the titular ‘Seeds of Memories’, all with the aim of revitalising their farm. Seeds can be unlocked by performing various tasks such as catching a giant fish, raising a cow or giving a villager their favourite item. Tools will also need to be upgraded regularly to find the best equipment for fishing, mining and other daily tasks.

It is expected there will be some more information about the game during E3, including a possible release date as it is currently pencilled in for a winter launch.

  1. It should be important to note that this is not a true Harvest Moon game. Natsume had a falling out with the Japanese company that makes the Harvest Moon games, and the rights to publish the games went to another company and is now called Story of Seasons. Natsume still owns the rights to the name Harvest Moon though, and they’re abusing it to make check knock offs.
