[UPDATE] Heavy Rain & Beyond: Two Souls Confirmed For PS4 But Only For Europe & PAL Region

Beyond: Two Souls for PS4 is one of the worst kept secrets in gaming, with leaks going back months for the updated version. Now Sony has confirmed the existence of Beyond: Two Souls for PS4, as well as Heavy Rain. They’ll be available individually digitally, but you can get a bundle containing both games on disc or through download. However, these updated versions will only be available in Europe & the PAL region, with no reason given as of yet for why North America is missing out.

Beyond: Two Souls PS4 is going to get an alternate mode too where the story will take place chronologically, instead of jumping about through Jodie’s life. There’s no release date yet and no footage of the remastered games has been released either, with both expecting to drop in the near future.

UPDATE: Quantic Dream have said that the games will eventually make it to North America.

  1. If only there was a way to play the original PS3 games on PS4… Oh but nobody wants that do they!

    • No, not me. Why would I want to play a PS3 game on my PS4?
I bought a PS4 to play games with better visuals/graphics in a higher resolution.

I never played Beyond: Two Souls on the PS3, so depending on the price, I may well download a copy.

      • Because there are hundreds of quality PS3 games? You know I couldn’t resist a dig after Sony arrogantly said nobody wants bc.

Why let someone play that gem they missed that can be found for a fiver when you can give it a slight upgrade and sell it for £40?

      • “Because there are hundreds of quality PS3 games”
There you have it… ‘PLAYSTATION THREE’ games, they’re not PS4 games. Play them on a PS3. What is up with people?! lol

Anyway… It’s unlike you to post a negative PS4 comment. You feeling OK? ;)

      • Ha ha, and its not like you to defend Sony is it.

The point is as Yoshida himself said, 40% of PS4 owners didn’t have a PS3, so they could’ve had backwards compatibility to allow them to play those games cheaply, but would rather sell them a spruced up version for full price. It’s hypocritical to say nobody want bc, then port all your hits to the new console.

      • Maybe there’s a lot to be said for the spit & shine applied to an existing title. It gets everyone whipped up into a happy, nostalgic frenzy and the new folk get to ride a fresh wave of over-enthusiasm into some quality gaming from yester-year. Seriously… the above may well justify the entire HD remake tsunami we’re seeing.

I don’t care for it much but look at me. I’m positively gagging to play Journey again (on the PS4) as I’ve sold my PS3. My own fault, I know, but still. Give me some 1080p Journey loveliness! Thankfully, at no extra cost to me.

      • I’d say the ‘spit & shine’ treatment definitely makes a difference to me ;)

I can honestly say, if I were to buy an Xbox One, even if there were 360 games I would have liked to play & managed to get hold of them, I wouldn’t fancy playing them on a newer console. However, if a remastered (higher res / textures) or remake became available for the Xbox One, I’d probably give it a go.

As long as there’s no major issues, The Uncharted Trilogy will definitely be purchased for the PS4 even though I’ve still got a PS3 & copies of the previous 3 Uncharted games.

I never played GoW 3 either which I could quite easily pickup for the PS3 for probably next to nothing, but never bothered. Now it’s being remastered, depending on how well the remastered versions plays, I could well end up purchasing the PS4 version.

Admittedly, at the moment, due to working my arse off all day, I am fortunate enough to be able to afford to buy a brand new game when I want & understand some people aren’t that lucky which is a factor I haven’t took into account. Saying that though, I think I’d rather still just wait and save-up for new games, or just play PS3 games on my PS3.

  2. Sony claim that 40% of PS4 owners are new to the Sony family, thus all the remasters to allow them to play the best of PlayStation on their nice shiny PS4. It is quite annoying for us long term PS owners. But if I was a kid again getting my first console and had the opportunity to play these games that are thought of as classics without having to buy a PS3 and a PS4 then I would!

Plus I get to play Uncharted 1-3 again! Can’t wait!

  3. I can take or leave most of these remasters. Now if they did the 1st modern warfare, I’d be allover that like a tramp with a bag of discarded chips ;)

  4. At least Beyond should be able to give a number of current-gen titles a run for their money, graphics wise.

Personally I’ve got no intention of buying these.
