Uncharted is one of the most popular brands on Sony’s consoles, and Naughty Dog hit a goldmine when letting Nathan Drake loose on the world. The series is ripe for a movie adaptation but, unlike the games, Uncharted’s big screen début continues to loiter in production hell. A year ago Seth Gordon, director of Horrible Bosses & Identity Thief, was given the task of taking control of the Uncharted movie project, with optimistic hopes of filming the movie this year. There was even a release date of June 10th 2016 penned in, and everything looked like it was in place to finally bring Nathan Drake to the cinema.
Seth Gordon has now become the third director to abandon the Uncharted movie. He follows in the footsteps of Neil Burger & David O. Russell, who were also once attached to the project. It’s obvious that Sony want to put an Uncharted movie out there, but it seems like such a release is still years away. Maybe Uncharted is too big of a project to fit into a film, with adaptations of the source proving difficult to put together. So the search begins for someone else to try and guide Nathan, Sully, & Elena towards the silver screen.

I wish they would cancel it all together. These movies are never anything like the game they’re suposedly based on. Tomb Raider movies were ok I guess.

I heard Hideo Kojima is free now. Maybe you could give him a call Sony. ;)
I think this will never get made as it either a case of ND(If they are involved) going “No, that is not how you are making the movie.” and the director falling out with them or the 3 directors so far do not like the script and got into massive rows over it. Or it’s just cursed and…. oh god, Sony, do not let Uwe Boll anywhere near him! DO NOT EVER LET HIM NEAR IT! Sorry, just had a terrible thought enter my head in mid sentence. And don’t let Micheal Bay near it eitehr or Paul Anderson as he’ll just turn it into a “MY WIFE IS HOT AND KICKING ASS!” film like he did with the Resident Evil films.
