New Screenshots For Final Fantasy XV Released

Final Fantasy XV is quite the anticipated game, and now Square Enix has released three new screenshots for the title which show three very different places. You have a nice drive along the coast, the front of a hotel in the city of Restalm where you can rest your party, and a dungeon in Ido which apparently hasn’t had any humans venture in it for a long time. Something else may be lurking in the shadows though.

Final Fantasy XV doesn’t have a clear release date yet, though it is expected next year on PS4 & Xbox One.

  1. 9 years, 1 name change, the disastrous launch of FF14, and the terrible and they give us 3 (quite nice looking) screenshots.

I don’t think that’s quite enough to get me interested. Of course, Final Fantasy can go wrong many times and then still give us something good again. (Controversial opinion, but after 7 and 8, it went wrong with 9. Which just wasn’t very good. But then 10 was great)

We shall see. Next year though? Why do I think it’ll be at least 2017?

    • Because you are a pessimist my friend! ;) However, you’re also possibly right which is a pain in the arse. However, do think that if any company can release a game that’s actually good after development hell, it would be Square Enix.

      • There’s a good chance it might work out, definitely. Over the past 20 years, they’ve only got it wrong about 1 in every 3 or 4 games (in the main, numbered series)

7 and 8 were great. 9, not so much.

X and X-2, also great. 11 was some online thing so doesn’t count, does it? (Not back then, anyway)

13 had a pair of good games (despite what some people might say), and 1 absolutely terrible game. The worst one ever.

14 got it right eventually (not played it myself), so I guess 15 might just work and then get an unnecessary and terrible sequel.

Just think, if they hadn’t delayed it so long, 13 wouldn’t have had 2 sequels. Which is a shame, because the first sequel improved on the first game, but also a good thing, because Lightning Returns was an enormous steaming pile of crap.
