We’ve had some fun new features pop up on TSA this past couple of weeks. You might have noticed that WeView disappeared off into the sunset a while back, simply because we’d started to run out of big games that would get you all talking, but in its place we now have Open Forum, which will ask you about to share your thoughts on much broader topics.
In its first rendition, we asked for your thoughts and memories from the PSP, while this week we wondered how you felt about the deluge of digital games that we had over the summer. Along those lines, we then planted tongue firmly in cheek for our Friday Fight Club – which will be a less regular feature – to determine the fate of pixel art videogames once and for all!
Would you believe that Bethesda are planning to add more content to Fallout 4 in the months after release? Well, of course you would, but they’re actually putting the DLC season pass up for sale while saying that they don’t know what it will entail is. As you can imagine, the sheer gumption of such an action got a reaction out of some people.
CR8ZYH0RSE said, “We’ve got something for sale but we don’t know what it is,what we do know is that it costs $30. Makes sense to me.” Though Advanced Imouto replied, “Better to not know and wait until after the game comes out and we have already played most of it, than knowing and complaining that it should of been on the main game because it was already developed during the main game’s development. See Batman: Arkham Knight.”
Kennykazey also pointed out a certain grey area or fallacy in this, saying, “I kinda doubt their claim that they don’t really know what it’ll be. Maybe they don’t know all of it, but I’d imagine something’s gotta be in or entering pre-production. Writers gotta write.”
The run up to next week’s Destiny: The Taken King release saw Bungie push out a huge update to Destiny, to add all of the content for that expansion, as well as put into play all of the fundamental changes to the game that they’re making.
MrYd got right down to the biggest talking point, asking, “How bad is Nolan North as a replacement for Peter Dinklage? There are videos comparing the two already, and it doesn’t seem like a good replacement. Some of that may simply be because it’s different and I’ve heard the old version enough times. Other lines are just really odd. And in one case, pronouncing a word completely differently.”
Meanwhile, Geffdog23 wondered whether the base game was worth looking into, “I’ve not played destiny for ages and I’ve never bought any of the dlc. Given all of these changes, how playable is the original base game? Or so I need to start investing in the dlc?” With Nate coming to the rescue with a fairly comprehensive reply.
I imagine you would be quite limited in interactions with just the base game now. While they are opening up the older DLC maps to everyone with crucible, you would still be missing a large portion of PvP and PvE modes, not to mention all the exotic armour and weapons that have appeared over the last year, and there would always be a 6 level difference between you and the higher players, limiting your interaction in anything where level advantages are enabled.
If you don’t have any of the DLC though, it is all included in The Taken King physical release, so make sure you don’t buy any separately if you were thinking of upgrading.
Of course, with a game as big as Destiny and with the size of the patch, it brought PSN to a crawl. “Slowest download ever!” vjmwilliams wrote. “Should be worth the wait though. I’ll just have settle for trying out the new shaders using the app til i’m home from work! Cant wait to try out the new maps.”
Finally, Rise of the Tomb Raider saw a comparison gallery between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game, as well as a statement that the game will not feature a multiplayer mode in Official Xbox Magazine.
Starman said, “Very good, 100% of development [budget] on the single player, just like the reboot should’ve had. The reboot’s multiplayer was the definition of a tacked on multiplayer just for the sake of it. With Gears of War on Xbox and Uncharted on PlayStation, there are far better 3rd person multiplayers available.”
“The MP in TR wasn’t well executed at all,” cam_manutd added. “Makes sense they drop this as it would only detract from the game further.”
Speaking of the generational jump, beeje13 said, “Not particularly going to make 360 owners buy a One as the 360 version holds up well, but you can see the generational leap in the details. It would be interesting to compare them in motion.”
Colmshan1990 also said, “Tomb Raider was a stunning game on PS3 and really eked out every last drop of graphical power from the last gen. The Definitive Edition on PS4 looked better, but not by all that much compared to other remasters, mainly through how good the game looked the first time around. Looks like the sequel is doing the same.”
Quite a few of you seem to have been drawn back to Driveclub this week, as the recent price drop for both the game and the Season Pass has tempted you to get stuck in. However, it’s other racers which have seen people get platinum trophies, with Avenger staking a claim to the F1 2014 platinum record and BadBoyBoogie for Project CARS alongside Until Dawn.
Youles has been typically busy, with the platinum for Teslagrad which he played courtesy of PS+ and 100% completion of MGSV: Ground Zeroes before starting on The Phantom Pain. This alongside continuing an Until Dawn playthrough and helping people with Call of Duty: Ghosts and GTAV trophies.
R1MJAW’s also been a busy bee, having completed Xeodrifter, nabbed 100% on Grow Home and finished Leo’s Fortune, alongside co-op shenanigans and levelling up further in Borderlands.
Meanwhile, double-o-dave was very impressed by the first chapter of King’s Quest and Andrewww rather enjoyed going back and playing Contrast. Carrot381 finished the main story of Lego Jurassic World, while DividSmythe got around to grabbing the platinum for The Order: 1886.
We’re nearly done, but you can head over to page two for the return of the Fastest Platinum boards. To finish off this page, we have the usual submission form for photos and accomplishments.

MrYd
Speaking of communities… A quick reminder for those with the PS4 beta firmware. There’s a community for you lovely people. Find me (MrYd is my PSN ID, but it’s apparently tricky to find me, because Sony) and you’ll find it. Or send me a friend request and ask me nicely to invite you to join it.
Or I’d say search for TheSixthAxis, except there’s no way to search for community names. I guess it’s a beta after all.
Guess I’m stuck owning it too, once it’s out of beta. Can’t let someone else become the owner (although I can give people special powers, which obviously TSA staff can have should they want them).
DividSmythe
It’ll probably easier to find MrYd either through my I.D. (same as here) or roll through the 571 similar names on Ps4. Why oh why if I’m looking for MrYd does he appear at the bottom when I typed his name in. I typed MrYd in and got names like davemryd99 before I got MrYd.
The community search function is really badly needed.
Also owning the communities surely will be changed. I know there was requests for admins on one Ps4 community although I’m unsure if it was an official one.
MrYd
I already answered that question! MrYd comes after awholebunchofcrapMrYdsomemorecrap because Sony. Do we need any more reason than that?
Or is it because I’m special?
Or maybe Sony hate me.
DividSmythe
Haha your comments do really make me laugh. Nice one.

I got Mr Y-Fronts at the top of the list…special unders that Sony are trying to Virtual Reality sculpt and adapt for a forthcoming title :P
