Community Round-Up: 26/09/15

Tonight’s the night, the big showdown between England and Wales in the Rugby World Cup. Both teams have suffered injuries and have a different look to them than would be ideal, but despite just being a pool match, victory is absolutely vital for a strong bid to get out of the group, with Australia also in the hunt for a place in the quarter finals…

Either way, it should be a cracking match.

Looking at the Meets, chances are that Monday will see the usual Project CARS meet, with the odd Rocket League or GTA V Meet thrown in elsewhere.

If you’d rather play something else, you can add your own Meet to the list, provided you have more than 250 TSA Points.

Just a couple of previews for you this week, as I first looked at the roguelike Descent-like game Sublevel Zero, before getting some extended hands on time with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, made a video to accompany the preview and finally talked to François Pelland, Senior Producer on the game.

The reviews were more lively, with Jim starting us off with Disney Infinity 3.0 and an 8/10 score. SOMA was a memorable and affecting horror game for Tuffcub, though, who awarded it a 9/10, while the stark contrast of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer received a 7/10 from Dom. Destiny: The Taken King, however, managed to give the game a huge overhaul to the tune of a renewed 9/10 score.

I also took time to play Cities: Skylines – After Dark, which added new depths to the popular city builder, and gave some early impressions from the first half of LEGO Dimensions.

Blair blogged about his move from writing about games to making them, with the announcement of Membrain, and we also spoke to Al Bickham and Andy Hall from Creative Assembly about what they’ve been cooking up with Total War: Warhammer.

Jim used Mobile Watch to look at the table top-like Loot & Legends, before looking at the trend of game remasters in Open Forum.

Finally, What We Played featured Destiny, Cities: Skylines and PES, while the Podcast also had football games alongside Train Valley and Armello.

There’s a little life in the forums as:

I’ll be back with the Chronicle tomorrow, so there will either be joy or commiserations to be doled out, depending on the result of tonight’s match…
