Mirror’s Edge developer DICE has confirmed that Magnus Birgersson, aka “Solar Fields”, will compose the soundtrack for upcoming sequel, Catalyst. Birgersson was originally approached by the Swedish studio to work on its original first person free-runner, creating one of the best video game soundtracks from 2008.
For those who have yet wrap their ears around some of his work, Solar Fields generates a serene and mellow strain of electro. It synced with the theme and setting of Mirror’s Edge perfectly, making Birgersson an obvious to work on the sequel. You can catch a sample of the Catalyst soundtrack below:
