Community Round-Up: 14/11/15

How many of you are currently enjoying Fallout 4? I bet the answer is a lot. Or maybe it’s Tomb Raider you’re getting stuck into right now? Or perhaps it’s one of the several other great games we’ve seen released over the past couple of months. Let me know what gaming goodness you’ve been up to, as we begin this week’s Community Round-Up!

CRU2-PCARSMeet

Looking at the Meets, chances are that Monday will see the usual Project CARS meet, with the odd Rocket League or GTA V Meet thrown in elsewhere.

If you’d rather play something else, you can add your own Meet to the list, provided you have more than 250 TSA Points.

There were only a handful of previews this week, so let’s start with them. Stefan immersed himself into Valve’s vision of the future with their VR headset, the HTC Vive, and also chatted to JB McRee about the headset. MeanwhileDom looked at Xenoblade Chronicles X, which finally arrives to this part of the world next month, as Dave went hands on with Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros., which is also soon to be released on 3DS.

It probably came as no surprise to many of you that Fallout 4 was one of our high scorers, sitting proudly on a 9/10. Dave called it “without a doubt one of the best games this year”, saying that it’s “excellent world building complements the fantastic quest design”. Also perched on the top spot was The Room Three, which Jim described as “arguably one of the [puzzle] genre’s best entries of all time”.

Somehow Dave also found time to review Rise of the Tomb Raider, another blockbuster title, which he awarded an 8/10. If you enjoyed the reboot from a few of years ago, you’ll likely enjoy this one too. Also on an 8/10 was Conflicks – Revolutionary Space Battles, followed swiftly by Need for Speed on a 7/10.

Next up we had Coast Guard, which blends the criminal investigation and ship simulator genres together – albeit not very well, which is why I gave it a 6/10. We then had two games on 5/10’s – Poncho, and also Rodea the Sky Soldier – both of which came from Jim. Lastly, he also gave a 4/10 to FORCED: Slightly Better Edition, while Dom reviewed the Dr Who level pack from LEGO Dimensions.

This week’s Open Forum spoke about the rise of co-op, while the Chronicle discussed AC Syndicate and Black Ops 3 sales.

We end with Episode 200 of the Podcast, and What We Played #229 featured everything the gang have been up to, including Fallout 4, Tomb Raider and Need for Speed.

Time to check the Forums:

Enjoy your weekends, and I’ll see you again soon – bye!
