SteamWorld Heist Steals Its Way Onto The 3DS On December 10th

Image & Form’s follow up to SteamWorld Dig is something really very different. It might share a title with that game, but SteamWorld Heist is a 2D side-scrolling turn-based strategy game, with you and your crew raiding steampunk spaceships throughout the SteamWorld universe.

Sticking to their word of releasing by the end of 2015 – albeit already having delayed the game from the end of last year – Heist is set for launch in the on December 10th at 2PM UTC for 3DS, with other platforms set to appear next year. If you buy before the end of the year on December 31st, you’ll be able to pick it up with an exclusive Nintendo 3DS Home Menu theme and at a discounted price of $16.99 / €16.99 / £11.99, before it reverts to $19.99 / €19.99 / £14.99.

The maths behind the pricing, handily provided to us by I&F so I wouldn’t have to dig out my abacus, notes that since SteamWorld Dig costs $9.99 and SteamWorld Heist is 10 times “bigger and better” than Dig, you’re getting 5 times the value.

For more on the game, check out our preview and chat with CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson from October.

  1. Steamworld Dig was a great little game.
I didn’t realise this was coming to 3DS first.
Hopefully we don’t have too long to wait before it comes to PlayStation.
