If you want an award for unexpected announcement from PlayStation Experience, how about the sequel to one of the most delightful JRPGs in years? Level 5 have announced that Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom will be coming to PlayStation 4. The trailer shows off the gorgeous art style we’ve come to know and love from the Studio Ghibli and Level 5 collaboration.
Part of the story, which has nothing to do with the PlayStation 3 classic and the Nintendo DS game that never released outside of Japan, has also been teased. It shows the rise of Evan, a newly crowned king of a troubled kingdom that sees adversaries from all around, along with friends and monsters alike.
No details on how the battles will be changed up, but no doubt there will be more details as the game is being developed. This announcement has certainly made me want to boot up my PlayStation 3 once more, just so I can play the charming first game again in time for when the sequel finally launches.

Not into JRPGs, but it certainly looks very impressive graphically.

Really loved Ni No Kuni on PS3, fingers-crossed this sequel can live up to the brilliance of the first one. Wonder if the king of the fairies will make an appearance.

If there’s no Lord High Lord of the Fairies in it, then knickers to the whole thing.
Ok, maybe not. I’m sure it’ll look and sound as gorgeous as the first one. Even with Studio Ghibli seemingly not involved. (Although the music guy is back, and he did lots of Ghibli films)

If it’s as beautiful, immersive, and enjoyable as the first count me in! Though it would be nice to have Dave Coaches back in it :-)

I thought that was a one off! So happy it’s not.
