We are just days in to 2016 and the VR wars have begun with Oculus Rift firing the first shot and opening up pre-orders for the headset, which will begin on January 6th.
However, with just two days to go the price for the headset has still not been revealed, which probably means it’s going to be damn expensive with estimates of at least £300. Those who do flash the cash will also get a copy of Lucky’s Tale by Playful, and CCP’s EVE: Valkyrie for free.
Earlier today it was revealed that Oculus Touch, the controllers that can be used with the headset, have been delayed in later this year.
Oculus Rift remains on schedule to ship in Q1 2016, with Sony’s PlayStation VR launching sometime in the first half of this year and HTC Vive in Q2.

I wonder how much extra the touch controllers will be and if it’s just as well that they’ve been delayed as they can have a cheaper entry point.

I’m waiting for the PSVR, I’m hoping Sony will be announcing the release date and price during their conference at CES on January 5th.
