[UPDATE] The New Uncharted Trailer Seems To Include Assassin’s Creed IV

We’re sure this is an honest mistake, but somehow the new trailer for Uncharted 4 – which you can view here – contains concept art for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Ubisoft Montreal’s Aymar tweeted:

He the followed this with an image from the trailer…

… and the concept art from Black Flag. Oops.

UPDATE: Naughty dog have issued an apology.

In our eagerness to get the story trailer out we made a regrettable mistake and didn’t thoroughly vet the art work used for an in game painting. We’ve already updated the trailer. We hold all artistry in high regard and take full responsibility for having allowed this to happen.

We want to sincerely apologize to everyone at Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed team, the original artist, and our fans.

  1. I would expect some kind of easter egg but this doesn’t quite fit. Perhaps Nate and Elena have been enjoying videogames during their downtime and started collecting concept art prints for their nest. ;)

  2. What do you know, Naughty Dog use google images to source their visual material. Any pictures of train/tube networks next :p

  3. Not much of a mistake; they’ve photoshopped the guy out of the image before using it!

    • Seems the intern is getting a stern lesson in copyright-law.

  4. Looks amazing. Well the concept art was put to good use anyway. Cannot wait.

  5. And in the news tomorrow, we find out that Naughty Dog was destroyed by a hooded man in white, two men with guns(one has a tattoo), a vigilanti and erm… i think that’s it.

Either Ubisoft gave ND permission to use the concept art or they could be doing a small promotion deal with Sony. They did it with MGS 4. Or someone googled it and stole it from the first page of results.

  6. It’s a “regrettable mistake” apparently and they’ve apologised and changed the trailer to not feature borrowed artwork.

    • The new ‘painting’ used at 1:36 looks a little suspicious. I wonder where they got that image from.

Shame that the inclusion of the ACBF artwork was not some sort of Easter egg tie-in or reference to the franchise.
