Curve Digital and Perfectly Paranormal have unveiled a rather curious new game today, called Manual Samuel. It’s a game that kind of does what it says on the tin, in that a fine young fellow called Samuel gets hit by a truck and finds himself having to make a dastardly deal with the Devil. If he wants to keep on living, he has to live a whole day doing every single thing manually.
In other words, it’s like the rather mean old joke about David Beckham, who goes to have his haircut with a pair of headphones on. The barber’s a bit confused by this, but gets to work when David refuses to take them off. “Typical primadonna footballer,” he thinks to himself.
Unfortunately, as he’s cutting away, the barber manages to knock the headphones off, David goes a bit blue in the face and falls off the chair. Not quite understanding what’s going on, the barber picks up the headphones, only to hear Posh Spice’s voice saying on a loop, “Breathe in, breathe out.”
Except that with Samuel, it’s more than just breathing, it’s voiding his bladder, keeping his spine straight, taking a walk one step at a time, brushing his teeth. You get the picture.
Manual Samuel is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC some time in 2016.
