Ubisoft and Massive have finally taken the lid off some major parts of what The Division’s end game will be made up of. They plan for the game to continue to expand and grow over time, with regular new content to keep people coming back and playing. So within the game at launch, there will be new tasks and challenges with both daily and weekly missions, but most important are the first two free updates to the game.
Incursions are what they’re calling the game’s raids, and the first of these will appear in April. They will quite firmly be focussed on squad play, with teams having to face “seemingly unstoppable enemies” with high-level weapons and gear as their reward. This patch will also enable loot trading within a group and a particular game session. May will then add new features to the Dark Zone and a second incursion in the Columbus Circle.
Those are the only free updates mentioned so far, but Ubi have already outlined the first three paid expansions that come as part of a season pass.
By the way, just in case you hadn’t realised, The Division is out on Tuesday.

Sounds a bit like Destiny to me, a massive scheme to pull money out of our pockets… And, as I’m usually late to the party and don’t buy games on day one, it may be difficult to get on board later on. Let’s see, my Beta impression was good though.

I’ll get it, complete it, then move on. Probably.

I really hope this doesn’t go down the road that destiny took.
