Slightly Mad Studios and Bandai Namco have revealed a new package for Project CARS on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it will be out this Spring. It will ship with brand new content, all of which will be available to existing owners as DLC.
The Game of the Year Edition includes:
- An additional 50+ cars (125 total)
- 4 tracks (35 unique locations, 100+ layouts total)
- 60+ community-created liveries
- 500+ features and improvements that have been added since launch
In addition, the Game Of The Year Edition will feature two distinctive and exclusive items:
- The iconic Nürburgring Combined Nordschleife+ GP circuit
- 2 exclusive vehicles to Project CARS from Pagani Automobili, both unveiled today at this year’s Geneva Motor Show – the Zonda Revolucion, and Huayra BC

In fairness it’s the one bit of common sense coming out of SMS. The DLC system is pretty appalling with most of the community events tied into paid DLC, and the dozen or so DLC packs costing a fair amount with no apparent option of a season pass (add to that a very silly limited edition car pack costing extra too). On top of that the default car list isn’t inspiring, making the DLC all the more needed.
I’m hoping that they’ll bundle all the DLC in a GoTY add-on for the vanilla game.

Oh I’m not disputing any of that, I’m just saying in order to release a game of the year edition, surely somebody has to have awarded game of the year to the game and I can’t imagine that, it’s just not good enough.

Haha yeah, I would’ve thought that too. I don’t keep track of the all the awards that are handed each year, but I’m under the impression that some devs just do it for the sake of releasing an all-in-one edition these days, irrespective of whether they earnt such an award.
I don’t think PCars won any GoTY awards. As you say, it’s just not good enough for anything like that.
