The official Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst website has been updated with two new gameplay videos, one for movement while the second shows combat within the game.
As you can see we get a glimpse of the city at night in all it’s neon glory, and the red colouration, used in the first game to indicate your path, has seemingly been replaced by glowing orbs. I’m not so keen on that, Mirror’s Edge has always been based in reality so glowing orbs seem a little out of place.
The combat video is rather full on, but does show that some of the environment will be destructible. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is out this May on the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Not sure where the proper place to report this is (?) but I keep getting pop ups for Lego Nexo Knights.
Tuffcub
Yup we know, it has been reported to the firm that supplies our ads and will be removed asap. Sorry about that!
Carrot381
A thanks from me. It’s been driving me potty.
Tuffcub
We do have a policy of no full screen adverts because they are really annoying. Unfortunately a few slip through now and then (that sodding Pickle!) but we do try and remove them as soon as possible.

Tis why i always use adblock. That and it saves on my small data cap. Hate it when adverts are autoplaying or worse, they do that and i can’t even stop the feckers.
Tuffcub
You could turn it off, just for us. It’s the only source of revenue TSA has, we run this place using a tea, of gerbils in wheels to get electricty. It’s not like any of the staff get paid, the very small revenue we get from ads goes to paying for the servers. No ads = no servers = no TSA :(

Thanks. Wasn’t sure if you guys knew or if it was just me. Damn Lego.
RudeAwakening
Yeah I must admit those orbs do look strange.

I kind of assumed the glowing orbs were maybe for a speed run or something? But not so sure now because in the combat video, I definitely spotted what looked like an orb.
Just me though that feels very underwhelmed by these? Especially the movement one. Not entirely sure why, possibly doesn’t feel as fluid as the last one?

It’s the music. It utterly disconnects you from what you’re seeing and is a piss-poor choice. It also shows how important good music choice is in a video game (or even when to just have sound effects).
Andrewww
I think it generally looks promising, and I’m really looking forward to it, it was one of my favourites of last gen.
If I remember correctly, you could turn off the path indicators, which would solve the problem.

I’m guessing (hoping) that the orbs are part of a speed run, otherwise it’s a bit crap to have those things showing possible routes. It takes away half the fun. Otherwise it all looks great.
