My reputation is on the line in the TSA offices as I am convinced No Man’s Sky will be Sony’s big game to launch PlayStation VR and others are convinced otherwise. Hello Games have mentioned PlayStation VR before but have been very, very quiet about it in recent months. They’re still not talking about it either, but specifically not talking about PSVR.
“I think it’s perfect fit for virtual reality. I think that No Man’s Sky, which is this infinite computer generated universe, and PlayStation VR, which is a headset that you put on and enter a VR space is like, it’s like you’ve asked me when I was five what the future would look like,” said Hello Games Sean Murray. “But that’s as far as I can comment.”
Aha! The old “I can’t comment” line! Regularly used when timed exclusives or other such business deals are in place.
Sony need a big game to push PlayStation VR,it needs to be 1080p 60fps and launch around the same time as PSVR, and No Man’s Sky ticks all those boxes. It’s about a week until Sony unveil all things PSVR at their big event, so not long to wait.

Hang on… what “reputation”? :P

There are only a few specialist wards in the UK that are equipped to treat burns as bad as this one :P

I-thank-you. :-)

Rude! However, I am confident, you don’t report video games news for six years, every day, without getting a nose for this sort of thing.
Put it this way, I’m better at predicting things that Pachter (Xbox One will outsells PS4!)
Starman
One of my favourite things about TSA is you don’t report any of Pachter’s predictions. He comes out with such crap it makes me wonder how much he knows about the industry.

If No Man’s Sky is PSVR’s big launch title does that mean the headset will be released on 24th June?

More than likely as is what always supposed to be 2ND quarter release for PS VR if I remember correctly. I do hope they market the PS VR aggressively with demo booths and price low for a huge uptake – Sony will have a huge hit if they don’t get too complacent with how well they are doing now.

PSVR – last we heard- is out before June 30th. We find out more next week.

With NMS’s massively widespread PR campaign and being snapped up by Sony it makes total sense for a VR launch. Everyone knows about NMS, assuming it’s good fun it’ll be a cracking lead game to help sell some VR sets!
TSBonyman
Unless they subsequently came up against some major issue while developing NMS for VR, it does seem fairly likely. And if it’s coming to PSVR i don’t see why they wouldn’t do the same for the PC version, barring maybe a timed-exclusivity deal.
No Man’s Sky in VR – that’s a seriously tempting prospect, i might HAVE TO pick up PSVR.
The Lone Steven
Even if it does become a VR game, no-one will buy it for daring to have the balls to charge £40 for a small studio! £40! I mean, what kind of sick studio demands full price for their hard work?
From what little footage i’ve seen, it does seem perfect for VR except for one issue, the same issue that affected Kinect. Space! if it requires walking, chances are, people will run out of space in their houses unless you are a footballer.
94jdh
That won’t be an issue with PS VR as it’s more likely to be used for immersion (looking around) than actual physical movement like hive .

Yeah you dont walk around with PSVR, it’s a seated experience. None of the PSVR games lets you walk around afaik.
