Dead Island 2 Is Back On, Sumo Digital Now Developing

Deep Silver’s Dead Island 2, which was originally being developed by Yager, has found a new home in the shape of UK based studio Sumo Digital. The developer has a solid reputation having worked on Little Big Planet 3, Sonic & Allstars Racing Transformed, and Forza Horizon 2.

“Sumo showed so much understanding of the brand, had creative ideas and an excellent, vision that was aligned with our own,” Koch Media CEO Dr Klemens Kundratitz told MCV.

“It just made perfect sense for us to move the project to them. We will reveal more details at a later stage, but for now I’d like to say that we are obviously super excited about the progress that we are making with them.”

Dead Island and it’s pseudo sequel, Riptide, have recently been announced in remastered form for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and will be out on May 31st.

  1. Yay!

    That’s all.

  2. Sumo Digital is within an hours drive of me I think. They’ve been trusted with ports of big games as mentioned but great to see their own project.

  3. That is good news, the original announcement trailer looked fantastic so i can’t wait to see how it turns out.

  4. Didn’t they ruin LBP3?

  5. You really need to proof-read articles.
