After years of waiting, Hitman is finally back in an all-new episodic approach to the iconic series. As of today, players will be able to access the game’s Intro Pack which includes three sizeable locations and a growing wealth of contracts to take on.
The first few missions do a great job of outlining the basic controls while hinting at several of Hitman’s more advanced mechanics. To give you the heads up, we’ve put together ten top tips that will help agents on their way to becoming a true silent assassin. Wrench Monkey
- Don’t be afraid of throwing objects to incapacitate your enemies. While sharp projectiles can be used for a quick kill at range, lobbing wrenches, crowbars, and busts allows you to stun enemies you can’t knock out from behind.
Do Some Recon
- The Sanguine Paris Fashion Show is huge, almost overwhelmingly so. Instead of going straight for the kill, you should spend as much time as possible exploring each area. Part of being a master assassin is knowing which disguises work best and where to find them.
Going Up?
- Think vertically and use ledges to move between floors without being spotted. Drainage pipes are an especially good way of getting around. Just be careful not to climb through a window when there’s a security guard stood right next to it!
Stalk Your Prey
- Don’t pop a target the moment they come into view. For the most discreet and exotic murder methods, you’ll need to follow them around for a few minutes and pick holes in their patrol route. Patience is definitely a virtue.
Killer Instincts
- Don’t be afraid of rinsing Hitman’s Instinct Mode – it’s there for a reason. Use liberally whenever you need the drop on nearby guards, targets, or civilians.
It Comes With A Price
- They may seem fairly useless at first though coins are easily one of the most effective tools in Agent 47’s arsenal. Wherever you toss one, nearby enemies will investigate the sound, making them perfect for luring foes into secluded spots.
Wait, That Didn’t Happen!
- “Save scumming” may be frowned upon, but in Hitman it can help cancel out some of the game’s more frustrating moments. There’s regular auto saves, but manual saves also come in handy when you finally isolate a target and want to kill them using different methods in order to beat specific challenges.
Clean Up Detail
- When gunning for a high score, make sure there’s always a crate or closet nearby when taking out enemies. Unless stashed in one of these containers, there’s always a chance they’ll get found.
Jobsworth
- Certain actions won’t attract suspicion if you happen to be wearing the right disguise. For example, waiting staff can poison food and drink without being spotted whereas security personnel can subtly sabotage computers.
Earplugged
- You don’t need to keep quiet in order to slip past guards unnoticed. As long as there are objects breaking their line of site, you can move around quickly. Holding down the sprint button while in crouch mode will let you weave through patrols like a pro.
