Flippfly and Funselektor Labs have released an announcement trailer for Absolute Drift: Zen Edition. The game is about learning to drift a car well around over 34 tracks, with challenges appearing as well. These include Midnight Events where night themed locations offer a tougher challenge over the regular tracks. Players will be able to select between six vehicles.
All the events will have their own leaderboards, and the ghosts of other players will provide some opposition. Absolute Drift: Zen Edition will release on PS4 this summer.

I didn’t think i would be interested in a drifting game but having watched the video it has a nice look to it and the music connected me back to the “Zen Edition” in the title and then the game became a more interesting prospect.

I’ve never really got on well with the drift mode in some race games as the controls have never really felt spot-on. The closest I feel that a game has got to the drift style is something like the Burnout series and that style of game.
The video above looks really cool, very interesting and as long as they nail the controls then I’ll be interested.

I usually move on quickly when a game has Zen in the title but this has got me interested. I do like a good fillet of drift and a dollop of try-and-try-again is often welcome too, looks like the sort of game that could possibly appear on Vita too.
