Japanese company SNK Playmore has announced that it has ditched it’s pachi-slot activities and will focus solely on videogames. This is a complete opposite of Konami’s activities, who have reduced their videogame output to focus on Pachi-slot & Pachinko machines and mobile games.
The company known for Metal Slug, Fatal Fury, and King of Fighters, has also unveiled a new logo and name, now simply called SNK.
This change marks a return to SNK’s rich gaming history. Through the huge success of many of its game franchises in the past, SNK is still a brand supported by countless fans from around the world to this day. The new logo and slogan chosen for this turning point, signifies both a return to the origins of SNK, and revival of our pioneer spirit to always offer long-time fans of SNK, as well as newcomers, entertainment of an even higher quality moving forward. Via this change, we will keep creating games and expand on our cherished IPs in the future.
The company has also revealed that The King of Fighters 14Â released only on PlayStation 4 on August 23rd in North America. The game is also coming to Europe at some point.

Could have sworn this was a dead franchise but we do need more fighting games. Just hope that they don’t do the CApcom route of shoving it out without that much content and patch it in all later.
