At long last, we get a good look at the upcoming Pokémon games, with the first gameplay trailer for Sun & Moon revealing the three starter Pokémon that you’ll be able to choose from. The Pokémon Company have also announced that the game is coming out on 23rd November in Europe, or five days earlier on 18th November in the US.
It all looks very good, as the footage seems to suggest that it’s embracing the 3D world with a camera angle that’s closer to the player character, if not a fully user controllable camera.
Of course, the big selling point for diehard series fans will be the three new starter Pokémon that you choose from as you start your adventure in Alola. Rowlet is a grass and flying type owl, Popplio a water type sea lion and Litten a fire type flaming fur ball spitting cat. It’s pretty obvious which is the coolest of the three…
In other Pokémon news, they said that Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby had totalled 3 million sales in Europe since its release in 2014, and that there had been 1.5 million sales of the 3DS Virtual Console releases of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow.
May and June also see the Pokémon National Championships in full swing, with a trio two day events that encompass the Trading Card Game, the video games and Pokkén Tournament. They can be watched at the following dates:
- 14–15 May: Liverpool, UK (Exhibition Centre Liverpool)
