Google Announce Daydream, A New VR Platform For Android

The VR market is starting to get very crowded as Google have just announced Daydream, a brand new platform “for incredible, immersive VR experiences for Android phones.”

It will only work on Android N device which have a specific sensors and screens, and the tech giant has created VR versions of popular apps such as YouTube, Street View, and Google Play. EA and Ubisoft are also on-board. The Android N phones will be produced by big names such as  HTC, LG, and Samsung, but you will also need a new Daydream headset to hold phone, and a Daydream controller.

  1. Grrr. Autoplay videos need to be stamped on.

    Nice to see Google taking the VR stage seriously now. Cardboard platform has been OK, a nice little step in to the arena, but Daydream looks like a full fledged jump forwards.
