Sniper Elite 4 Delayed Until February 2017

E3 might be prime time to announce new games, but it’s also rife for announcing game delays, and Rebellion have just admitted that Sniper Elite 4 has now been delayed until February 14th, 2017.

With Rebellion also going full steam ahead with Battlezone for PlayStation VR, they felt it best to push Sniper Elite 4 back to next year.

“When we revealed Sniper Elite 4 back in March our plan was to release it at the end of 2016,” Jason and Chris Kingsley, co-founders of Rebellion, said in a statement. “However, we now know Battlezone will release in October as a launch title alongside PlayStation VR. That gave us a tough decision to make. Ultimately, we’re a relatively small independent studio, and releasing two major titles in the same quarter didn’t seem like a sensible thing to do. A few of our shared internal teams will probably sleep a bit easier now!”

On the plus side, it means that they get to spend a lot more time polishing the game, and they’ve sent out a bunch of new screenshots from the game.

Now, everyone loves the duel between Call of Duty and EA’s shooter of the year – whether it’s Battlefield, Titanfall or Battlefront – but there’s a rather tasty battle building between two sniper games, as Sniper Elite 4 is now coming out just a couple weeks after Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

  1. Oh noes!

Hang on, Isn’t Sniper Ghost Warrior and Sniper Elite part of the same franchise? If so, not really a battle, more of a tag team.

Annoyingly, my copy of the UE for Elite 3 doesn’t work properly thus i can’t play it properly to determine if i truly enjoy sniper games or not. :(
