The Nintendo 3DS is probably the best console to own right now, if you’re a fan of Japanese RPGs, and Nintendo are trying to cement that status with the announcement of a new action RPG called Ever Oasis.
It’s being developed by Grezzo, the studio entrusted with the Legend of Zelda 3D remakes on 3D and Tri Force Heroes, and has studio founder Koichi Ishii as the director and producer, whose storied career has seen him direct a number of early Final Fantasy games, designing some of the series’ iconic creatures along the way, as well as creating the Mana series.
You’re a chosen Seedling, sent out into the desert to build a thriving oasis in tandem with your partner, Isuna. It certainly has a cutesy art style, but underneath that, there’s plenty of action RPG gameplay, as you go foraging, complete missions and delve into puzzle-filled dungeons.
Ever Oasis is set for release in 2017.
