EU PS Store Update 05/07/16: Banner Saga 2, Hawken & PS Plus

Whether you’re just after your monthly dose of PlayStation Plus games – grab them here! – or looking for something a little bit different to play, this week’s store update seems to have you covered. First and foremost, the sequel to the critically acclaimed tactical RPG Banner Saga has made its way to PlayStation 4, with many a difficult decision to make and battle to fight through, as humankind teeters on the brink. Check out our review of the PC version from earlier this year.

That contrasts quite strongly with the free to play mech battling of Hawken, the procedurally generated Lost Sea, and the fascinating bullet hell mash up of Furi – one of this month’s PS+ games. At the end of the week, there’s also the release of Carmageddon: Max Damage and Atelier Sophie, which reviewed rather well round these parts.

Keep going for the full list of additions, courtesy of the EU PS Blog.

I'm probably wearing toe shoes, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!

  1. Wasn’t Paragon supposed to be free? You still need to pay lots of money for what is supposed to be a free to play game.

Furi appears to be everything that’s wrong with boss fights in games. Die a bit, work out what you’re supposed to do, do it 3 times, then die a bit on the next phase before you work that out. I did just get 5 trophies in the first fight though. Interesting look to it though. Terrible music possibly cancels that out.

    • According to the store this is ‘early access’ and it will be free to play August 16th.

  2. Yakuza 5 seems to be available on PS3 instead of Fat Princess. Not sure if this is an error or not though. Hopefully get to download and keep this.

    • Probably best not to risk it if you really want to play it. They’ll take it away from you, and you won’t be able to buy it properly again. Seems to be how they handle those sorts of mistakes.

    • It only shows as free until you get to the checkout then it comes up as £32.99

      • Yup – looks like its now been removed from the Plus listing.

    • I Managed to purchase it at £0, same as other plus games, does that mean i have it now, or will sony likely take it away somehow?

      • There’s a good chance they’ll revoke the licence for it, eventually. So you won’t be able to play it. And you may well not be able to buy it either, because you already “own” it. They don’t remove it from your account, just stop you playing it.

At least, that’s what seems to have happened in the past.

  3. The Warriors is £11.99 but doesn’t include a platinum. I thought the ps2 classics at that price should have a platinum but the cheaper ones at £8.99 or whatever they are, didn’t?

  4. Awesome, been waiting for Gat out of Hell, just the download wait now :P
