Microsoft Has Purchased Streaming Service Beam

Microsoft has announced that it has purchased the interactive streaming service Beam Interactive, which itself launched earlier this year. The service’s angle is that it makes streams more interactive allowing the audience to affect what happens in game. While it is likely Beam will make it to the Xbox One to use as a streaming option there’s no public timeline for when it will be added.

Of course it will face some stiff competition from Twitch, which is already available on the Xbox One, but as Microsoft own Beam it will probably be pushed a lot to users.
