Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade Heads For PC Release On 23rd September

Eternal Crusade is probably best summed up as Warhammer 40K crossed with Battlefield and a persistent overworld of eternal warfare. Having gone into Early Access at the start of this year, it’s finally coming together for a full release on PC on 23rd September, with development on the console releases paused but still planned for a future release.

I’ve been meaning to return to the game recently, as the initial pitch is one full of promise for videogaming fans of the tabletop franchise. Unfortunately, my intial hands on time was far from smooth, and carried over from playing on PS4 at the event to getting into the game at home on my PC. Things seemed to have improved even just a fortnight later, so I’m feeling fairly optimistic that the PC release is on track.

Stephen Mulrooney, SVP Behaviour Digital said, “We are committed to delivering the best experience for the release on September 23rd, with a PC version that matches our ambitions in terms of content and quality and sets the runway for our free lifetime expansions. To pause the development of the console versions was a tough decision but will result in an optimized and extended experience when released.”

  1. Got my fingers crossed the console launch will be up to scratch. Been yonks since we’ve had a decent 40K game away from PC/mobile.
