Yesterday during PSX there was confirmation of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, a new entry to the fighter series that pits the comic book heroes against characters from a number of Capcom games. The reveal trailer showed Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Mega Man, and Ryu as the first four confirmed characters with also a hint of Ultron at the end. Now a gameplay trailer showing the first four characters has been released.
Compared to the last entry to the series, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, there will be a bit of feature strip back. There has been confirmation that this will be a 2v2 title instead of the traditional 3v3. The more contentious point is that the assist system will not be within Infinite. The system allowed for a team member to jump in and pull off a move to do some damage, making fights pretty frantic affairs. Players will be able to choose an Infinity Stone for their team which grants a certain ability.
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is expected to release in 2017 and we’ll no doubt get more news on the roster soon. Just don’t expect the X-Men to show up.
