Focus Home Interactive And Asobo Studio Announce The Plague

Ahead of next month’s What’s Next de Focus event, Focus Home Interactive and Asobo Studio have announced a new action adventure game for PC and consoles titled The Plague. Little about the game is currently known, as the first images and details will be made public on February 1st, but this game announcement also marks the first time that the French publisher and developer have worked together.

This sees Asobo cutting loose from the work for hire jobs that had them most recently handling the Xbox 360 port of The Crew, creating the Fragments and Young Conker for Microsoft’s HoloLens Developer Edition, and assisting in the development of ReCore.

Sebastian Wloch, CEO of Asobo said, “Collaborating with Focus Home Interactive on a new, original creation of our team is a major step in the development of our studio. For this ambitious project, we needed the full support of a strong and growing publisher.”

Similarly, Cédric Lagarrigue, president of Focus Home Interactive said, “It is a great pride for Focus to accompany Asobo on an original creation of the studio. This new signature confirms our results and know-how on the support of talented independent studios such as Dontnod, Deck13, Giants Software, Cyanide, New World Interactive and Larian on increasingly ambitious projects worldwide. There is a real upscaling of our catalog and The Plague will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the next years of Focus.”

So, until February, all we have to go on is this one piece of artwork.

  1. Hands up those who read it as “Asbo studios”

  2. I hate announcements of announcements, but the promo art looks interesting. I think it’s Notre Dame in the background?
