The Director And Writer Of The Division Movie Have Been Confirmed

The Assassin’s Creed movie has surprisingly, given the reviews, been a box office success taking over $180 million so far, against a budget of $125 million. It looks like Ubisoft want to replicate that success and has once again hired some serious Hollywood talent for the movie based on The Division.

Academy Award winner Stephen Gaghan has been signed up to both write and direct the movie, his previous work includes Traffic, which won him his gold statue, and Syriana. He joins Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal on the project, the latter also following in Fassbender’s footsteps as a producer on the movie.

The movie has no release date but I wouldn’t expect it until at least early 2019.

  1. It would be possible to make a decent movie out of the division, the set up is there I just doubt this will be any good.

    • I thought while I was playing it that it would make a better film than game. I’ll keep an eye on it but I fully expect it to be fudged. Hopefully I’ll be surprised.

  2. The Division?

As in….. the very forgettable game that was launched last year and erm… that’s about it, ?

I suppose, they can do a better job with the plot but of all of their games, this?

Also, AC was a success? But regarded as average by mos…. oh, great. It’s the new live action Resident Evil films. At least, they can’t piss me off as much as RE does. Mainly because they seem to be doing their own thing and not really much for them to mess up.

    Still, the Division?
