A couple of months ago news broke that Jake Gyllenhaal would be starring in movie adaption of The Division, but at the time Ubisoft didn’t confirm anything. Today Ubisoft Motion Pictures has confirmed that a The Division movie is happening and Jake Gyllenhaal is going to star, along with Jessica Chastain. Most recently Gyllenhaal has starred in movies like Southpaw and Nightcrawler, while Chastain has been in Interstellar and The Martian.
Matt Phelps, VP of Ubisoft’s Motion Pictures, said:
“Attaching Jake and Jessica is part of our development philosophy of working closely with top talent from the earliest stages to collaborate on a high quality film.”
The next major film from Ubisoft Motion Pictures will be Assassin’s Creed, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, which opens on December 21st.
