Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Is No Longer A PlayStation Exclusive

Up until now, Ace Combat 7 has always been pitched as a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR game, but that exclusivity has evaporated with the latest announcement that the game, newly subtitled Skies Unknown (to the best of my knowledge) is also coming to Xbox One and Windows PC.

The VR side of the game remain exclusive to Sony’s platform, the press release wording makes you wonder just how integrated PSVR support will be. It reads, “PlayStation 4 system players will be able to play portions of ACE COMBAT 7: Skies Unknown and experience exclusive features developed specifically for the Sony PlayStation®VR.”

Regardless, check out the latest trailer for the game, which features flying aces and combat between planes!

  1. Makes perfect sense (both this and Ni No Kuni II).

Both niche games so glad to see Namco Bandai is offering them up to a wider audience.

  2. Futuristic sci-fi shooter with 1970’s F15 Eagles? HAWX 3 please.

    • The two HAWX games were really good, I’d definitely take a third.
I really hope the VR support isn’t throwaway because it was one of the few big games to look forward to for PSVR this year.

      • From earlier info I thought you’d be able to play the whole game in VR. It all depends how big the “portion” is and the “exclusive features” whether I keep my pre-order.
Hawx 3 in VR would be great.
