Aven Colony Comes To Console In New Team17 Partnership

If humanity ever manages to reach out into space in a serious way – I mean, one can dream, right? – we’ll be sending people on an epic voyage across the galaxy to (comparatively) nearby star systems in the hope of finding habitable planets. Aven Colony takes you light years away from Earth to an alien world of deserts, tundras and wetlands, asking you to build and maintain a colony on a planet that’s not always that friendly to you.

There’s a sandbox ode for those who just want to build a little colony to call their own, but the game also features a mission objective system in its campaign mode that lets you work up the ranks from being a simply Colony Governor through to becoming the overall Expedition President.

Teaming up with Team17, the small four person team at Mothership Entertainment were already bringing Aven Colony to PC, where you can buy into the beta that is already available via itch.io, but it’s now also heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Q2 2017.

  1. Looks like a cross between Anno 2070 and Civilization Beyond Earth. On PC this would be in danger of being tagged “another strategy game” but because this sort of thing is so scarce on PS4 it might be worth keeping an eye on.

    • Just what I was thinking.
It looks interesting but the problem with games like this is finding enough time to get the best experience with it.
